Evans Opportunity Engine
Live commercial opportunities. Identified, researched and ready to approach.
Not a list of companies. Not generic leads. Evans identifies organisations where a current event, investment, change or commercial trigger creates a credible reason for your business to approach them now.
Here are organisations where something has happened that gives you a commercial reason to contact them now.

What counts as an opportunity
Something has to have happened. That is the whole discipline.
Trigger types vary enormously by sector. The Engine is configured around what you actually sell, your ideal customer profile, your sectors and your target markets — so the signals below are a menu, not a claim that all of them apply to you.

The product standard
Every researched opportunity carries the same thirteen elements.
- 01
Company
The organisation, with enough context to judge relevance.
- 02
Trigger / event
What actually happened — stated plainly, not inferred.
- 03
Date / source
When it happened and where it was reported. Sources are retained so the trigger can be verified.
- 04
Why it matters
The commercial logic: why this event creates a reason to talk now.
- 05
Fit with your offering
How the event maps to what you actually sell.
- 06
Named decision-maker
The person whose remit covers the requirement.
- 07
Verified contact route
A verified email where one is found. Where it is not, we say so and give the best verified route instead.
- 08
Commercial opportunity
What the opportunity plausibly is, and what it is not.
- 09
Recommended approach
How to open, what to lead with, what to avoid.
- 10
Personalised opening email
Written for this company and this event — not a template.
- 11
Priority
High, Medium or Watch.
- 12
Confidence score
How strong the evidence and the fit are.
- 13
Next action
The single next step, so nothing stalls.
No guessed contact details
Email addresses are never guessed. Where a verified direct address cannot be found, the opportunity says so plainly and supplies the best verified contact route instead — a switchboard, a named assistant, a LinkedIn route or a monitored departmental address.

- One month.
The same terms apply to all four packages.
Evans productised-service bundle rule
5% on an added productised service
If an Opportunity Engine client adds another new productised Evans service, that additional service receives 5% off. The Opportunity Engine package itself remains at its normal price.
10% on Opportunity Engine
If Opportunity Engine is added to an existing higher-value Evans engagement — fractional commercial leadership, international market entry, international recruitment, a major digital infrastructure engagement or another qualifying strategic engagement — Opportunity Engine receives 10% off. The core engagement is not discounted.
Discounts do not stack. The highest relevant discount applies, and it applies only to the service named in the rule.
International
Opportunity intelligence without borders
The Opportunity Engine is configured around a geography, not around Britain. A target market can be a single country, a group of countries, or a home market and an export market at the same time.
Where the Engine can look
- Within the UK
- Within another single country
- Across a group of countries
- For overseas companies targeting Britain
- For UK companies targeting international markets
- For companies expanding across several territories at once
How that looks in practice
UK manufacturerUK infrastructure and capital projects
Australian companyUK and European prospects
German manufacturerUK target accounts
British software companyNorth America
European building-products businessUK specifiers, distributors and contractors
Evans Sales Consultancy is UK based. Research and development work is carried out from the UK; we do not claim local offices in markets where we have none.
Delivery
Delivered weekly, while the trigger is still live
Opportunities are released across the month rather than dumped at month end, because a commercial trigger loses value the longer it sits.
30-opportunity packages
Approximately 7–8 researched opportunities each week.
60-opportunity packages
Approximately 15 researched opportunities each week.
Exact weekly allocation varies slightly. The commitment is 30 or 60 genuinely researched opportunities per month, and standards are not diluted to hit an artificial weekly number.
Evans Opportunity Brief
The weekly Opportunity Brief
A short, structured weekly document your sales team can act on the morning it arrives. Supplied as a polished Evans-branded PDF.
Layout shown with generic placeholders. Evans does not publish client opportunities or invented examples.

Opportunity history
Opportunities are tracked, not discarded
Each opportunity carries a commercial state, so later reports distinguish what is new from what is moving. Over time the Engine becomes cumulative commercial intelligence about your market rather than a series of disposable lists.
- New
- Researched and released this period.
- Developing
- Contact made or the situation is progressing.
- Advanced
- A live commercial conversation.
- Closed
- Concluded, either way.
- No longer relevant
- The trigger has passed or the fit has gone.
How it works.
- 01
Define
What you sell, who buys it, typical deal size, key sectors, geography, exclusions and commercial priorities.
- 02
Build the signal model
We agree the events and triggers most likely to create genuine buying need in your market.
- 03
Monitor
Evans researches the agreed markets continuously rather than in bursts.
- 04
Qualify
Signals are checked against your actual offer and ideal customer profile. Most do not survive this step.
- 05
Research
Decision-maker, contact route, commercial opportunity and recommended approach are developed and evidenced.
- 06
Deliver weekly
You receive actionable opportunities while they are still commercially relevant.
- 07
Analyse monthly
Evans identifies patterns across the month and recommends what to prioritise next.
- 08
Managed option
Where commissioned, Evans manages the agreed outreach and early pipeline development.
Why this is not lead generation

- The right person is identified.
- The contact route is verified.
- The recommended approach is supplied.
- The opening message is written.
- The opportunity is prioritised.
- The event is sourced.
- The opportunity is tracked.

Choosing correctly
Which Evans service do I need?
The Opportunity Engine is not the entry gate to Evans. If what you need is a diagnosis, commercial leadership or a full market-entry programme, go straight there.

Read moreQuestions about the Opportunity Engine
A monthly commercial intelligence service. Evans researches your agreed markets for genuine commercial trigger events, checks each one against what you actually sell, identifies the right decision-maker, establishes the contact route, explains why the opportunity is relevant and writes a recommended approach — so your team can act rather than research.
A lead list tells you a company exists and someone works there. The Opportunity Engine starts from an event: something has happened that gives you a reason to make contact now. The event is sourced and dated, the commercial logic is explained, the buyer is named, the approach is written and the opportunity is tracked over time.
It depends entirely on what you sell. It may be a factory investment, a planning approval, a contract award, a funding round, an acquisition, a new commercial or technical leader, a distributor search, a product or platform launch, a supplier change or a regulatory shift. We agree the trigger model with you before any research begins, because a trigger that matters to a building-product manufacturer often means nothing to a software business.
Thirty researched opportunities per month on Intelligence and Managed, and sixty on Intelligence Plus and Managed Plus.
Weekly. A 30-opportunity package releases roughly 7–8 per week and a 60-opportunity package roughly 15. The weekly allocation varies slightly because the monthly commitment is to genuinely researched opportunities, not to a fixed number per week.
Yes. The service is configured around your target geography, whether that is the UK, Europe, North America, Australia or another genuine target market. Evans is UK based and carries out the research from the UK; we do not claim local offices we do not have.
Yes. A programme can cover one country, a group of countries, or a home market and an export market at the same time. Where the volume is split across several territories, we agree the split at the outset so no market is covered superficially.
Every trigger is evidenced from a retained source with a date, so you can check it yourself. Decision-makers are identified against current public information, and contact routes are verified rather than assumed. Where evidence is thinner, the confidence score says so.
Yes, where they can be verified. Each opportunity carries a named decision-maker and a verified contact route.
We say so. Evans does not guess email addresses or apply common address patterns and present them as verified. Instead you receive the best verified route to that person — a switchboard, a named assistant, a professional network route or a monitored departmental address.
Only on the Managed packages, and only within an agreed approach. On the Intelligence packages the opening email is written for you and your team sends it.
Everything in Intelligence, plus Evans managing the agreed first outreach and follow-up sequence, handling responses, updating your CRM, carrying out initial qualification and reporting monthly on pipeline.
No. No credible commercial service can guarantee how a market will respond. Evans commits to the research standard, the delivery cadence and the professional handling of agreed outreach — not to appointments, replies or revenue.
A three-month initial programme. Trigger-led development needs a full cycle before it can be judged fairly.
It becomes monthly rolling, with one month's notice.
Yes, and nothing obliges you to. Opportunity Engine works perfectly well on its own; where it exposes a deeper issue we will say what would actually address it.
If you are an Opportunity Engine client and add another new productised Evans service, that additional service receives 5% off. If you add Opportunity Engine to an existing higher-value engagement such as fractional commercial leadership, market entry, recruitment or a major digital infrastructure programme, Opportunity Engine receives 10% off. Discounts do not stack — the highest relevant one applies.
No. If you have a functioning sales team that simply needs better reasons to make contact, the Opportunity Engine is enough. Fractional commercial leadership is the stronger fit when someone needs to own strategy, pipeline discipline and conversion rather than supply opportunities into it.
Manufacturers, engineering and industrial businesses, building-product companies, technology and software businesses, professional services and specialist B2B companies — in short, any business where commercial events reliably precede buying decisions and deal values justify researched, individual approaches.
Yes. It is often used alongside market entry: once the route to market is agreed, the Engine supplies evidenced reasons to approach specific organisations in that market. It does not replace the entry strategy itself.
Start from a reason to make contact.
