Bid & Tender Support

Win more effectively when the opportunity matters.

Evans provides outsourced bid and tender management for businesses that need experienced commercial capacity without building a permanent internal bid function.

Most tenders are not lost on capability. They are lost on structure, evidence and the discipline of answering what was actually asked.

What Evans does

An extension of your commercial team.

Evans helps businesses manage important bids and tender submissions from initial opportunity assessment through response planning, coordination, commercial positioning, writing support, review and final submission.

  • Assess opportunities
  • Organise submissions
  • Develop win themes
  • Coordinate contributors
  • Strengthen commercial responses
  • Structure evidence
  • Improve clarity
  • Manage deadlines
  • Review submissions against evaluation criteria
  • Prepare final tender documentation

Opportunity Engine identifies commercial events and buying signals. It does not guarantee that a tender will be issued, that you will be invited to bid, or that any contract will be awarded.

Credibility

Where the capability comes from.

Evans is a commercial consultancy, not a procurement practice. The value in a tender process comes from commercial judgement, structure and the ability to run a complex submission to a deadline — not from claiming a bid history the business does not have.

Commercial leadership
Senior sales and commercial direction across manufacturing, engineering, construction products and specialist B2B.
Proposal development
Writing and structuring commercial proposals that have to persuade a buying group, not just describe a company.
Opportunity generation
Identifying and qualifying real commercial opportunities, including project, specification and tender activity.
Market-entry experience
Working with overseas businesses entering the UK, where procurement conventions are unfamiliar.
Commercial decision-making
Understanding how buyers actually evaluate, score and justify an award internally.
Structured project management
Contributor management, document control and deadline discipline across multiple parallel workstreams.

Where specialist technical, legal, procurement or regulated input is required, that expertise must come from the client or from an appropriate specialist adviser.

Who this is for

Businesses where formal procurement is part of how work is won.

These are the sectors where Evans works most often and where formal tendering is routine. Any B2B organisation facing a serious, structured procurement process is a sensible fit.

Timing

Deadlines decide how much can be added.

Bid support is inherently deadline-sensitive. The earlier Evans becomes involved, the more value can normally be added — strategy, evidence and contributor planning all need time that a final-week engagement does not have. Late-stage support is still possible, and sometimes worth doing, but it is a narrower piece of work.

Early involvement
Bid/no-bid judgement, win themes, evidence gathering and a realistic contributor plan.
Mid-process
Response development, coordination and structured review against the criteria.
Close to deadline
Review, editing, compliance checking and submission control — where capacity allows.

Availability is never automatic. Urgent enquiries should state the submission deadline and the current status of the response so Evans can answer honestly and quickly.

Expectations

What Evans does not do.

Evans does not invent technical or compliance content. It organises, challenges, improves and presents information the client can stand behind. The client remains responsible for approving:

  • Technical claims
  • Legal statements
  • Financial information
  • Certifications
  • Insurance details
  • Accreditations
  • Policies
  • Health & safety procedures
  • Sustainability evidence
  • Social-value claims
  • Environmental claims
  • Delivery methodologies
  • Staffing commitments
  • Pricing
  • Contractual acceptance

Evans can help organise, challenge, improve and present that information. It will not fabricate capability your business does not have.

Bid & tender questions

  • Yes. Evans can run the submission as an extension of your commercial team — opportunity review, strategy, planning, coordination, response development, review and final submission. What Evans cannot do is supply technical, financial or compliance content on your behalf. That has to come from you or from your own specialists, and you approve everything before it is submitted.

  • Bid writing produces words. Bid management runs the whole process: deciding whether to bid, setting the argument, allocating questions, chasing contributors, controlling documents, reviewing against the scoring criteria and getting a compliant pack submitted on time. Writing is one part of it, and usually not the part that loses tenders.

  • Full Bid & Tender Management starts from £4,500 + VAT per submission. The final fee depends on complexity, the number of questions and lots, response volume, how many contributors need coordinating, how close the deadline is and how much material Evans has to develop rather than edit. Evans reads the tender documents before confirming a fixed fee, so the number quoted is one that can be held.

  • It depends on how many serious submissions you make and how predictable they are. A business with a steady, year-round tender programme can usually justify an internal appointment. A business with unpredictable peaks, or three to eight important submissions a year, often gets better value from retained external capacity than from a permanent salary.

  • No, and any consultant who promises that should be treated with suspicion. Award decisions belong entirely to the buyer. What can be improved is whether your submission is compliant, complete, well evidenced, clearly argued against the published criteria and submitted on time.

  • That depends on the deadline and on current capacity. Tell Evans the submission date and the current status of the response in your enquiry and you will get an honest answer quickly — including if the answer is that there is not enough time left to add real value.

  • Most often manufacturing, engineering, industrial, construction, interiors and fit-out, building products, infrastructure, groundworks, facilities management, technology and specialist B2B. Any B2B organisation facing a serious formal procurement process is a sensible fit.

What can and cannot be promised.

  • Evans cannot guarantee that any bid or tender will be successful.
  • Award decisions remain entirely with the buyer or contracting organisation.
  • The client remains responsible for the accuracy of all information supplied.
  • Where legal, tax, regulatory, procurement or technical specialist advice is required, appropriate professional advice should be obtained.

Bid & tender enquiry

Discuss my tender

Tell Evans what the opportunity is and when it closes. You will get a straight answer on whether there is time to add real value, and what it would cost.

Do not attach tender documents to this form. Once Evans replies, documents can be shared directly by email or through your own secure transfer or tender portal — Evans will read them before any fee is confirmed, and they are treated as confidential.
