Try working with Evans

See how Evans works on a real problem before you commit.

Who it is for

  • Businesses considering Growth Partner, Fractional Commercial Leadership or International Expansion
  • Owners and Managing Directors who want to experience working with Evans on a real problem first
  • Teams with one clear commercial priority that needs evidence, not more discussion
  • Businesses that would rather see how Evans works than read about it

The one-priority rule

Every pilot revolves around one principal commercial challenge, agreed and written down at the start. That focus is what makes 30 days long enough to produce real evidence.

Suitable challenges

Examples of a single pilot priority.

  • Testing a target market
  • Improving the sales pipeline
  • Testing an offer or proposition
  • Improving conversion
  • Evaluating a new customer segment
  • Sharpening sales strategy
  • Testing early international interest in one market

What happens during the 30 days

From kickoff to decision.

  1. 01

    Initial commercial review

A substantial kickoff to understand the business, its current position and the specific commercial issue.

  2. 02

    One defined priority

The pilot is agreed around one principal challenge, written down, so everyone knows what is — and is not — being worked on.

  3. 03

    Target customer or market focus

Where relevant, the market, customer or account group being tested is clarified.

  4. 04

    Opportunity identification

Commercially useful opportunities relevant to the agreed challenge are identified.

  5. 05

    Controlled testing

Where appropriate, a controlled amount of real commercial activity is carried out to generate evidence.

  6. 06

    Weekly commercial reviews

Structured contact every week; you leave each review knowing exactly what happens next.

  7. 07

    End-of-pilot recommendation

At day 30 Evans gives a direct assessment of what the evidence suggests.

  8. 08

    Final commercial decision

An immediate discussion: proceed into the right Evans engagement, change direction, or stop.

What limited execution means

Controlled testing, not an outsourced sales team.

Limited execution means a deliberate, bounded amount of real activity — for example, testing a message with a defined set of target accounts, qualifying a sample of pipeline, or approaching a small group of prospects in a new segment. It is enough to produce evidence. It is not an outsourced sales function, unlimited prospecting or a month of any ongoing Evans service.

What is excluded

£799 does not buy a month of everything.

  • A month of Growth Partner, Fractional Commercial Leadership or International Expansion
  • Outsourced Sales Director work
  • Unlimited business development or unlimited prospecting
  • Unlimited calls
  • Recruitment
  • Website builds
  • Multiple simultaneous commercial workstreams

Weekly rhythm

Direct access throughout the pilot, within the agreed scope.

  1. Week 1

Kickoff and commercial review. The priority, the target and what a useful result looks like are agreed.

  2. Weeks 2–3

Defined work between sessions, controlled testing and a weekly review of what the market is showing.

  3. Week 4

Evidence gathered, conclusions drawn, recommendation prepared.

  4. Day 30

Decision meeting: proceed, change direction or stop.

Day 30

The end-of-pilot decision.

Proceed

Move into the Evans engagement the evidence supports.

Change direction

Choose a different Evans route if the evidence points somewhere else.

Stop

End cleanly. The pilot is not designed to force every business into a retainer.

Sprint: diagnose and plan · Pilot: test and work together · Ongoing: execute at scale

How the Pilot differs from other Evans routes.

Pilot vs Commercial Growth Sprint

Diagnose and plan. A structured £1,495 + VAT diagnostic that establishes what is constraining growth and produces the commercial priorities and a 90-day action plan. The Pilot does not replace it: the Pilot works on one priority you already know matters.

About Commercial Growth Sprint →

Pilot vs Growth Partner

Ongoing broader commercial execution at £1,995 + VAT per month plus a performance fee. The Pilot is one priority for 30 days; it does not buy a month of Growth Partner.

About Growth Partner →

Pilot vs Fractional Commercial Leadership

Senior ownership of the commercial function over months. The Pilot does not include leadership of your team or outsourced Sales Director work.

About Fractional Commercial Leadership →

Pilot vs International Expansion

Ongoing international commercial execution. A Pilot can test early interest in one market, but it is not a market-entry programme.

30-Day Commercial Pilot questions

  • A fixed 30-day engagement in which you work directly with Tom Evans on one live commercial priority, including controlled real-world testing, followed by a direct recommendation and a decision on what happens next.

  • £799 + VAT, fixed.

  • Yes. £799 + VAT is the whole fee for the 30-day pilot. There is no monthly subscription.

  • No. There is no commission or performance fee on the pilot.

  • No. The pilot is a standalone 30-day engagement with no long-term commitment.

  • Evans gives a direct assessment of what the evidence suggests, and you decide immediately whether to move into an appropriate Evans engagement, change direction or stop.

  • Yes. There is no automatic renewal.

  • No. Nothing continues unless you actively choose to continue, and any ongoing engagement is agreed separately.

  • Direct access throughout the pilot within the agreed scope: a substantial kickoff, weekly reviews, defined work between sessions and a final decision meeting. It is not unlimited access.

  • One principal challenge, agreed and written down at the start — for example testing a target market or improving pipeline conversion. The pilot does not run several workstreams at once.

  • A controlled amount of real prospecting can form part of the pilot where it helps test the agreed priority. It is not unlimited prospecting or an outsourced sales function.

  • Yes, where that is the one agreed priority. The pilot can test early response in a target market; a full market-entry programme sits within International Expansion.

  • Yes, if pipeline is the agreed priority.

  • A pilot can test one international question, such as early interest in one market. Ongoing international commercial execution is International Expansion.

  • No. Recruitment is handled through Evans Recruitment Partner or Executive Recruitment.

  • No. Websites are delivered through Evans Launch or Digital Infrastructure.

  • The Sprint diagnoses and plans: it establishes what is constraining growth and produces a 90-day plan. The Pilot works on one priority you already know matters, with controlled testing, for 30 days.

  • Growth Partner is ongoing broader commercial execution. The Pilot is one defined priority for 30 days, with a decision at the end.

  • Evans will say so. The pilot is not designed to force every business into a retainer — sometimes the right answer is to stop, or to carry on without Evans.
