I have spent my career in sales roles where the number mattered — building pipelines, winning new accounts, managing sales teams and running commercial operations for businesses that make and distribute real products.
That work has mostly been with manufacturers, distributors and specialist B2B businesses: developing new markets, improving sales processes, training and managing salespeople, and growing revenue in territories that had been left to look after themselves.
I started Evans Sales Consultancy because a lot of good businesses do not need another strategy document. They need someone who will look honestly at what is happening in their sales operation, build something workable, and then get involved in making it happen.
In practice that means I am as comfortable in a sales meeting reviewing individual opportunities as I am in a board discussion about where growth should come from. Both matter. Only one of them produces orders.
I work with a small number of businesses at a time, usually on an ongoing basis, so there is enough continuity for the work to stick.
