Why Are My Google Ads Not Generating Leads?
Traffic without enquiries is a diagnosable problem. It is almost always one of six things, and only two of them live inside the ad account.

A campaign spending money and producing nothing is frustrating, but it is rarely mysterious. Work through the chain in order and the failure point usually declares itself within an hour.
You are buying the wrong searches
Open the search terms report — not the keyword list, the search terms report. This is what people actually typed. In most underperforming accounts a large share of spend has gone on research queries, job seekers, students, DIY variants and competitor names. Broad match with no negative keyword discipline does this reliably.
You are advertising in the wrong places
Location settings default to people interested in your area, not people in it. For a business serving Cumbria and the North West, that difference alone can consume half a budget on clicks from the other end of the country.
The landing page does not answer the search
Sending every ad to the homepage is the single most common conversion killer. Someone searching for a specific product or service should land on a page about that specific thing, with the proof, the price context and the next step visible without scrolling twice.
Conversion tracking is wrong, so optimisation is blind
If the account records page views or clicks on a phone number image as conversions, Google is being trained to find the wrong people. Track submitted forms and connected calls, and where possible import which of those became qualified opportunities.
The offer is weaker than the competition's
If four competitors offer a same-day quote and you offer a contact form, the click still costs you the same as it costs them. Nothing in the ad account fixes a proposition problem.
The leads exist — nobody is recording them
Calls taken on a mobile, enquiries answered by a colleague, messages that never reach the CRM. More than one business has concluded its campaigns produce nothing while the enquiries were arriving all along and being handled invisibly. Before rebuilding anything, count what actually came in.
