The challenge
Beautiful Homes UK is a home-improvement business with Putney and Deal context, publicly presenting a proposition across glazing, kitchens and wider home-improvement work.
Growth here was not simply a question of generating more enquiries for the same product in the same place. The opportunity was broader: a bigger market to sell into, a wider range of work the business could take on, and larger project types than its existing mix.
That makes it a commercial-strategy engagement โ geography, services and customer type โ rather than a lead-generation exercise.
The objective
Develop the business into the London market.
Win both commercial projects and residential contracts.
Broaden the proposition so the business could sell more to each customer.
Support ongoing customer acquisition and business development.
What we did
01
Expanding into London
Supported the commercial development of the business into London โ where the opportunity sat, which customers and project types to pursue, and how to compete in a market larger and more contested than its existing base.
02
Winning commercial and residential work
Helped the business win commercial projects alongside residential contracts, giving it a mix of work rather than dependence on a single customer type.
03
Developing and selling glazing work
Worked on developing and selling the glazing side of the business, and supported the kitchens proposition commercially.
04
Introducing extensions as an additional offer
Helped introduce and develop extensions as an additional commercial offering. Evans Sales Consultancy's role was commercial โ identifying the opportunity and helping the business sell it. The consultancy did not provide design, architectural or contracting services.
05
Customer acquisition and business development
Supported sustained business development and customer acquisition throughout the relationship, rather than a single campaign.
The outcome
3 years
Commercial growth support
London
New geographic market developed
New service
Extensions introduced commercially
Across approximately three years, the business developed into London, won commercial and residential work, and broadened its proposition beyond its original offer.
Extensions were introduced as an additional commercial offering alongside glazing and kitchens, giving the business more to sell to the same customer base.
No turnover, customer names or project values are published for this engagement; none were supplied for publication.
A Canadian architectural-components business wanted to establish a route into the UK and wider Europe. We rejected a conventional distributor model, built a project-partner network across the UK, Germany and France, and helped generate approximately ยฃ2.2m of new-market turnover within 12 months.
A German balustrade manufacturer needed a route into the UK. Distribution alone was not the answer โ the distributors had to be found, onboarded, trained and then supported in selling.
A major UK balustrade supplier was well established elsewhere in the UK but thin on the ground across the northern territories. Growth there needed direct commercial activity.
Crucial Engineering wanted to expand beyond Bradford and build a genuine national sales operation. We helped develop larger Tier 1 and Tier 2 opportunities, strengthen business development and establish a profitable new automation revenue stream.
ยฃ1.5m โ ยฃ3.2m Turnover in approximately 18 months
D&I wanted to accelerate growth beyond its existing model. We helped strengthen the sales strategy while establishing a dedicated installation arm and new aluminium fabrication capability, supporting turnover growth from approximately ยฃ2.2m to ยฃ4.6m.
A European architectural-glazing manufacturer wanted to establish a genuine UK operation. We helped set up the office and showroom, build the sales strategy and pipeline, support staffing and launch the business commercially.
BM Architectural wanted to expand its balustrade sales and create its next stage of growth. We helped win new customers, establish a dedicated architectural division and develop additional product opportunities including glass canopies.
Kingsmead Glass & Glazing is an established Buckinghamshire glazing business. Over approximately two years of consultancy support, Evans Sales Consultancy helped refine its commercial offering, develop the business beyond straightforward local glazing work and pursue and win more substantial commercial opportunities.
Trade Sliders is a Yorkshire sliding-door and wardrobe business supplying the trade. Over approximately nine months, Evans Sales Consultancy helped the business win wardrobe work with regular-buying trade customers across the UK, rather than depending on isolated one-off orders.
